How long before I show up in AI answers?

Fixes to your website can register within a few weeks. Getting named in AI answers usually takes two to four months, because the engines have to run into your pages, decide those pages are worth trusting, and then start using them to answer people. Anyone promising 30 days is lying.

What happens in what order?

Three stages, and they don't happen at the same time.

  1. Weeks one to four. We find out where you actually stand, then fix the foundation: the technical reasons AI can't read your site, your business details matching everywhere they need to match, and the measurement set up so we can prove what changes later. This part is fully in our hands, so it moves fastest.
  2. Months two to three. The answer pages go up — plain answers to the questions customers actually phone you about, on your own site, with your name on them. The engines start running into them, and you may see your business turn up in a few of the easy answers: your name, your business, small or specific questions.
  3. Months three to four. Your name starts appearing for the questions that matter, the ones where a customer asks who to hire and doesn't mention you. This is the part nobody can hurry.

Those are the stages, not a schedule. Some businesses land inside two months. Some take longer than four.

Why does it take that long?

Three reasons, and once you know them the wait stops feeling like a stall.

These systems don't go look you up on the spot. When someone asks ChatGPT who the best plumber in town is, it mostly repeats what it has already read. A page you published last Tuesday isn't in there yet. It has to be found first, and that isn't instant.

Trust builds up, it isn't switched on. Being read once isn't enough. A page gets used in answers when it keeps saying the same thing, other sources back it up, and nothing contradicts it. That takes repetition over weeks, not a single visit.

A brand-new page has no track record. Yours is one page against sources that have been sitting there for years. Nothing is holding it back on purpose. It just hasn't been around long enough yet to be worth quoting.

What if someone promises me 30 days?

A company promising you results in 30 days is either lying to you or doing something to your website that will damage it later.

There is no third option. If they mean the technical work, that part really can be done in a month, and calling it "results" is a bait and switch. If they mean AI naming you when customers ask, the systems don't move that fast, so either the promise is empty or they're taking a shortcut, the kind that spits out a pile of junk pages and looks like progress for a few weeks before it drags your whole site down.

We'd rather hand you the real number now than one that sounds better and makes you angry in month two.

Does it go faster for some businesses?

Yes, and it's worth knowing which one you are before you start counting months.

You'll move faster if your website has been up for years, your Google listing is filled out, you have a real pile of reviews, and customers already search for you by name. There is material about you out there. We're adding to a pile instead of starting one.

You'll move slower if your website is new or nearly empty, you have a handful of reviews, and almost nothing about you exists anywhere else. That's a normal place to start. It just means the first couple of months build the foundation rather than showing results.

The question itself matters too. "Emergency furnace repair in Sandy at 11pm" is a far quieter question than "best HVAC company in Salt Lake City," where every competitor in the valley is in the running. Narrow, specific questions come first. The big contested ones come last.

Common follow-ups

Can you guarantee I will show up?

No, and nobody can. We don't own these systems and we can't make them say anything. What we control is whether there is clear, trustworthy material about your business for them to find. That's the part that decides the outcome, but it isn't a switch we get to throw.

What am I paying for in the first month, then?

The work that has to happen before anything else can. Finding out what the engines currently say about your business in your area, fixing what your website says about the work you do and the towns you cover, and clearing the technical problems that stop AI from reading your pages. The answer pages come after that. You also get the checks we run each month, so you can watch what these engines say about you instead of guessing.

What if I stop after two months?

You'd most likely stop right before the part you were paying for. Month one and two are mostly foundation. Pulling out then is like paying to dig the footings and skipping the house. If you're not sure you can see it through four months, say so up front and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth starting.
